About Ha Vu

I'm a sixth year Ph.D. student in Environmental Economics at the University of California, San Diego. My research focuses on the impact of various environmental issues including air pollution and dam construction on some of the most vulnerable communities in developing regions. I am passionate about finding solutions to these issues through the implementation of sustainable environmental policies. This website serves as a platform to showcase my research and publications, as well as to provide information on my consulting services. My Master program has given me expertise in corporate finance, investments, risk management, and financial markets as well as technical training with financial tools

During my undergraduate studies, I gained a strong foundation in Economics and Statistical analysis. I also had the opportunity to accumulate knowledge on Business and International Trade as my minor focus

Research Assistant, Professor Judson Boomhower, UCSD

I'm assisting Professor Judson Boomhower with empirical work on his project that studies the Insurance Markets' Response to Climate Risk, which is also an opportunity to expand my knowledge in Risk modeling and Machine Learning

2022-present

Short-term Consultant, World Bank Group 

As an STC at the World Bank Group, I apply my skills to policy-oriented projects while also acquiring non-academic skills like grant proposal writing and workshop facilitation

My teaching experience is accumulated from deliberately engaging in a diverse selection of courses, spanning introductory to advanced levels, enabling effective communication with students from varied backgrounds on a wide array of subjects.
